Historically, Ukraine was considered a leader in the cultivation of industrial hemp. However, global trends related to the “criminalization” of this type of activity had a negative impact in Ukraine as well. Thus, during Soviet times, Ukraine grew about 120,000 hectares of industrial hemp, now these areas have decreased by 30 times.
